Current Research:

We study experimentally the latent time development of growth patterns formed by Paenibacillus type-T bacteria in poor media. We perform quantitative experimental investigations by analyzing growing complex structures. In particular, we go beyond the studies of individual colonies and explore colony-colony interactions (see image below) in order to elucidate long distance signaling and communication effects.
